Dislodic hails from the central valley, digging its roots in Fresno California while hoping to reach its musical tendrils to every corner, nook and cranny it can. The band formed in the spring of 2008 and in 2012 they found all the necessary components needed to complete the picture seen today: James Sonstegard on vocals, Daryl Bryson on guitar, Lisa Talley on bass and Amrik Sandhu on drums.
From the beginning, Dislodic has had a strong start. In the summer of 2009 they won Ernie Ball’s Battle of the Bands, which gave them the chance to play that year’s Van’s Warped Tour, whose headliners were: Underoath, Thrice, The Devil Wears Prada, and We the Kings. Shortly after, they took the stage at Rockin’ Roots down in Bakersfield, which boasted headliners such as: Powerman 5000 and Taking Back Sunday. In 2010 they were listed as one of Skinnie Magazine’s Top 100 Hottest Unsigned Bands in Southern California after enduring 3 rounds of battles with hundreds of other bands. And in 2011 they were the runner up in their local House Band Search, battle of the bands, for Fresno’s radio station, New Rock 104.1.
Dislodic’s music derives from a driving intensity that seeks to be expressed by every member’s unique experiences and backgrounds. They thrive and grow with the need to improve their skills every which way they can in order to bring the audience a fully layered composition that is spilling over with melody and dissonant undertones. Some have taken notice of this interesting combination of concepts and Dislodic has had the great pleasure in opening for some well-known names:
• I Am Ghost
• Green Jelly
• Brian ‘Head’ Welch (formerly of Korn)
• Adema
• Saosin
• Anberlin
• Evans Blue
• Red Line Chemistry
Dislodic hopes, through what they do, that they move their audience. Above all, they wish to share the gift of music, as they see it, hear it and feel it, with all who are willing to listen with an appreciative ear. They love what they do and hopefully so will others… including you.
